Veranova Breaks Ground on New ADC Mfg Facility; Adding Bioconjugation Capabilities
Veranova, a CDMO of small-molecule active pharmaceutical ingredients, has broken ground on a manufacturing expansion for antibody drug conjugates (ADCs) at is facility in Devens, Massachusetts, and is making a complimentary investment to establish bioconjugation capabilities at the site.
First announced in June 2024, the investment will add 9,000 square feet to the site, including a new process development laboratory and two cGMP) suites. These new capabilities will expand the site’s development and production capabilities for potent compounds, ADC linker-payloads, and other complex molecules. In addition, the company announced a complementary investment to establish bioconjugation development and cGMP manufacturing capabilities at the Devens site. Together, these initiatives represent a more than $50-million investment. The new capacity is planned to come on line in June 2026.

Cytiva Provides Update on $1.6-Bn Multi-Year Expansion
Cytiva has provided an update to a multi-year expansion plan supported by an investment of $1.6 billion since 2019.
The latest investments in chromatography resins and filtration include:
- Approximately a doubling of production capacity of chromatography resins manufacturing in Uppsala, Sweden, with the addition of new factories, new equipment, as well as improved automation capabilities and a new tank farm for solvent storage.
- Investment in chromatography resins reserves in Sweden.
- Enhanced local supply in North America with the construction of a second resins manufacturing site in Muskegon, Michigan. with approximately 100 full-time current employees. The site is slated to be fully operational with plans to hire about 100 more associates by end of 2028.
Looking forward, Cytiva outlined new filtration manufacturing lines in Pensacola, Florida, which will increase the site’s production capacity for filter membranes for North America by 20% by August 2025, with its most-ordered products stocked on-the-shelf. Other expansions include:
- Upgrades and expansions in filtration manufacturing at its site in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, to increase capacity by 33%;
- Expanded filtration device manufacturing at its site in lfracombe, UK, to increase capacity by 81%; and
- The start of filtration manufacturing at the company’s Innovation Hub and manufacturing facility in South Korea in 2026.
The company is also expanding dry-powder and liquid media manufacturing capacity at its site in Logan, Utah, for large volumes and adding high-speed bottle filling for small volumes. An expanded staging area for finished goods and a new centralized 10,000-square-foot quality control laboratory are already supporting increased manufacturing, with 73,850 square feet of further expansions to come through 2026.

Enzene Adds More Projects to Biomanufacturing Expansion
Enzene, a Pune, India-based CDMO of biologics, has announced that ahead of the official opening of its biologics manufacturing facility in Hopewell, New Jersey, the company has expanded its plans for the site. The site will now incorporate a further 26,000 square feet of drug-substance manufacturing suites, laboratories, storage, dispensing, and warehousing.

ReciBioPharm Launches PAT Platform for Advance Therapies Mfg
ReciBioPharm, a division of the CDMO Recipharm focused on advanced therapy medicinal products, has launched its Process Analytical Technology (PAT) platform for real-time process analytics and intelligent manufacturing. The PAT system centralizes quality analytics on a mobile skid, integrating multiple advanced technologies with proprietary orchestration and management software.

Kindeva, Rocket Health in Pact for Intranasal Delivery Platform
Kindeva, a CDMO of drug products and drug-delivery products and services, and Rocket Science Health (RSH), a Canadian technology healthcare company, have joined forces to find partners to develop a new intranasal delivery platform. The non-exclusive agreement will see Kindeva and RSH identify partners for the development of the RSH Olfactory Delivery Device, a dual nostril intranasal platform used for targeting specific regions of the nasal cavity.

Delpharm Opens new Sterile Filling Line
Delpharm, a CDMO of drug products, has inaugurated a new sterile filling line at its site in Saint-Rémy, France, to increase its production capacity for sterile vials or freeze-drying with an additional capacity of 45 million units in a 2-mL format.
This investment, which includes a new building, is valued at EUR 37 million ($42 million) including EUR 10.4 million ($12 million) in aid from the French government. It includes the construction of an additional 1,000-square-meter manufacturing area to accommodate the new production line, with a capacity to fill 2-mL to 100-mL vials at an hourly rate of 24,000 vials for the 2-mL format.

Tjoapack Expanding Sterile Packaging, Cold-Chain Capabilities
Tjoapack, an packaging company with operations in the US and Europe, has announced expansions in its sterile packaging and cold-chain capabilities.
At its Clinton, Tennessee, facility, Tjoapack is completing the installation of two packaging lines to enhance high-throughput sterile packaging operations. These include a fully automated, high-speed vial packaging line, capable of processing up to 20 million vials annually, featuring integrated labeling, cartoning, and serialization. The line is slated for commissioning and validation in the second quarter of 2025. It also includes a semi-automated packaging line for auto-injectors, offering end-to-end traceability and labeling, scheduled for qualification in the third quarter of 2025. In addition, cold-storage capacity at the Clinton facility was expanded and fully validated, with 160 pallet spaces now available under controlled 2–8°C conditions.
In Europe, Tjoapack’s facility in Etten-Leur, the Netherlands, has added cold-chain capacity following successful validation, with an additional 84 pallet locations coming on line in June 2025, bringing the total to 120 pallet spaces at 2–8°C. The Etten-Leur site has also successfully completed its first commercial project for pre-filled syringe (PFS) packaging. The fully automated PFS line is now in operation and supporting the onboarding of additional client programs.

Tekniplex Opens Mfg Facility for Barrier Protection Systems
TekniPlex Healthcare, a manufacturer of components and materials science products, has commenced production activities at its new 200,000-square-foot facility in Madison, Wisconsin. Serving as the flagship location for the company’s barrier protection systems business, the plant will combine manufacturing technologies with materials science experts to provide sterile barrier packaging.
