Daicel Chiral Technologies Opens New Chiral Separation Facility
Daicel Chiral Technologies, a provider of enantioselective chromatography products, has opened a new preparative chiral separations facility in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
This new facility is capable of handling small- to large-scale preparative separations projects and interfaces with Daicel’s global network of separations facilities in France, China, India, and Japan.

Thermo Fisher Scientific Opens New Plasmid DNA Mfg Facility
Thermo Fisher Scientific has opened a new plasmid DNA manufacturing facility in Carlsbad, California to assist with plasmid DNA-based therapies and mRNA-based vaccines.
The 67,000-square-foot facility, located on Thermo Fisher’s Carlsbad campus, is integrated with development, supply chain, and manufacturing capabilities. Thermo Fisher says it will also add more than 150 new roles as manufacturing scales.
In addition to the new facility, the company provides viral vector services at the following sites: Cambridge, Lexington, and Plainville, Massachusetts; Alachua, Florida; and Gosselies and Seneffe, Belgium. It also has a new cell-therapy manufacturing facility in Princeton, New Jersey and a new cryocenter in Weil am Rhein, Germany.

SPI Pharma, a provider of excipients and other pharma ingredients and services, has launched an excipient platform for flash orally disintegrating tablets (ODTs).
The UltraBurst platform is designed for direct compression and can deliver disintegration of preformulated products while maintaining hardness, friability, API loading, and assorted tablet weights.
