Aileen Ruff-Patry, President, Contract Manufacturing, West Pharmaceutical Services, outlined recent expansions by the company to support development and commercialization of medical devices, drug-delivery systems, and combination products through manufacturing, device assembly, packaging, validation, analytical testing, and regulatory support, at the DCAT Member Company Announcement Forum, which was held March 23, 2026, at DCAT Week. West also announced that it has rebranded its contract manufacturing business as West Vantage to highlight its suite of services and capabilities that have enabled by recent capital expansion projects.

In late 2025, West completed a 165,000-square feet capacity expansion at its manufacturing site in Dublin, Ireland with capabilities that included molding, drug handling, and device assembly and packaging for medical devices and combination products. More recently, in January 2026, the company announced additional expansion of its contract manufacturing network with a new site in Greenfield, Indiana. The facility, with 280,000 square feet, will incorporate modular construction to support assembly, labeling, kitting, packaging, cold-temperature storage, and release testing for combination drug–device products. The site in Indiana will also include equipment to support assembly and packaging of platform pens and autoinjectors.

The advanced facilities in Dublin and Greenfield, along with the company’s other sites in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and Phoenix, Arizona, provide advanced automation technologies for various programs. Additionally, West Vantage services leverage West’s analytical laboratories in Exton, Pennsylvania, and Waterford, Ireland to support design verification and release testing of combination products. The company also provides containment systems to assemble and prepare complex delivery systems for clinical and commercial distribution.
