Lonza Names Siegfried CEO as the Company’s New CEO
Lonza has named Wolfgang Wienand, currently CEO of Siegfried Holding AG, a CDMO of drug substances and drug products, as CEO. Wienand will join Lonza during the summer of 2024. He replaces Albert M. Baehny, who took on the additional responsibility of CEO of Lonza on an ad interim basis in October 2023 while the search for a permanent CEO took place. Baehny will remain at Lonza for a transition period during the summer before retiring from the company.
Wienand has been CEO of Siegfried since 2019. Prior to his role of CEO at Siegfried, he first served as Chief Scientific Officer and then as Chief Strategy Officer in Siegfried’s executive leadership team. Before joining Siegfried in 2010, Wolfgang held a series of increasingly senior positions at the German specialty chemicals company Evonik Industries.
The Board of Directors of Siegfried has appointed Reto Suter, currently the company’s Chief Financial Officer, as CEO ad interim. He will assume this additional responsibility as of May 1st, 2024. The search for the new Siegfried CEO has been initiated.
