Novo Nordisk To Build New $220-M Mfg Facility for Raw Materials

Novo Nordisk is investing DKK 1.5 billion ($220 million) in an 8,000-square-meter facility in Køge, Denmark for manufacturing raw materials. The facility will contain production, storage, office, and laboratory space and is expected to be ready for production in 2027.

The new plant will primarily supply raw materials for Novo Nordisk’s production of medicines for treating chronic diseases. The facility is part of Novo Nordisk Pharmatech, a Novo Nordisk company providing ingredients and products used in bio/pharmaceutical manufacturing.

In March 2023, Novo Nordisk Pharmatech announced the purchase of a 47,000-square-meter site in Køge, Denmark, with the purpose of expanding. The new facility is expected to create  around 50 new jobs.
