Samsung Biologics To Acquire PolyPeptide Group for $1.8 Bn

Samsung Biologics, a CDMO of biologics and fill–finish services, has agreed to acquire PolyPeptide Group, a CDMO focused on peptide-based active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), for $1.8 billion.

With this transaction, Samsung Biologics will expand its capabilities beyond antibodies and antibody drug conjugates  to include peptide therapeutics.

PolyPeptide has six cGMP development and manufacturing facilities across Europe (Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium; Strasbourg, France; Malmö, Sweden), the US (Torrance and San Diego, California), and India (Ambernath). In 2025, the company posted revenues of EUR 389.3 million ($442.8 million), representing a 15.6% increase versus 2024. The company has approximately 1,400 employees.

These facilities will join Samsung Biologics’s biomanufacturing network, which includes two campuses with five facilities in South Korea, representing approximately 785,000 liters of capacity. Earlier this year (March 2026), the company acquired a former GSK 60,000-L biomanufacturing facility in Rockville, Maryland, marking the company’s first US-based biomanufacturing facility.

Under the agreement, PolyPeptide shareholders will receive CHF 44.31 ($55) in cash for each PolyPeptide share, representing an implied equity value of approximately CHF 1.46 billion ($1.8 billion). The transaction is expected to be completed toward the end of 2026, subject to customary offer conditions, including a minimum acceptance threshold of at least two-thirds of all PolyPeptide shares, applicable regulatory approvals, and other conditions.
