Sanofi Opens $584-M Vaccine-Mfg Plant in Canada 

Sanofi has announced the opening of a new CAD $800 million (US $584 million) pediatric and adult vaccine manufacturing facility at its campus in Toronto, Canada. The new facility increases capacity to meet growing Canadian and global demand for pediatric and adult vaccines for pertussis (whooping cough), diphtheria, and tetanus.  

The new facility further bolsters Sanofi’s biomanufacturing footprint in Canada. The company now employs more than 200 employees in biomanufacturing production as part of Sanofi’s 2,000 employees in Canada.   

The new facility includes support from Canadian federal, provincial and municipal governments.
