SK pharmteco Completes Expansion of HPAPI Analytical Testing Lab 
SK pharmteco, a CDMO of small-molecule active pharmaceutical ingredients and cell and gene therapies, has completed the expansion of its analytical testing laboratory specifically dedicated to high-potency active pharmaceutical ingredients (HPAPIs). 

Located at SK pharmteco’s Rancho Cordova, California site, the cGMP laboratory is an addition to the site’s current HPAPI laboratory operations. Designed for the safe handling of potent chemicals for cGMP testing and release, the lab is now fully operational and has already achieved the successful release of its first API.

Axplora Announces $52-M Investment for Large-Scale Purification for GLP-1 Agonists 
Axplora, a CDMO of small-molecule active pharmaceuticals ingredients (APIs), intermediates, and antibody drug conjugates (ADCs), and a provider of industrial chromatography services, has announced a EUR 50-million ($52-million) investment in its site in Mourenx, France, to enhance its position in peptide purification. The investment will position the site as a Center for Excellence for large-scale chromatography for biologcs as well as supporting the development of other therapies, including glucagon-like peptide (1 GLP-1) drugs. 

Construction and infrastructure development will begin immediately (as reported on February 12, 2025), with first supplies of GLP-1 therapies expected in 2026. The company says the investment ensures the Mourenx site will remain a key contributor to Axplora’s API network  into the 2030s and beyond.

Bio X Cell Opens New Distribution Center in China 
Bio X Cell, a Lebanon, New Hampshire-based producer of functional antibodies for translational research, plans to open a new distribution center in Beijing, China.  The expansion complements the company’s flagship distribution center in Germany, as well as partnerships that extend the Bio X Cell name to Singapore and Korea, along with its headquarters and manufacturing facility in New Hampshire.

Roquette, a manufacturer of excipients and plant-based ingredients, has launched a new coatings platform. The platform features the Tabshield film coating systems and ReadiLYCOAT plant-based ready-to-use coating systems. Tabshield offers flexible film coatings for both immediate and enteric release while ReadiLYCOAT provides film coatings and sugar-free sugar coatings with plant-based polymers.

Frontier Scientific Begins Construction of New Logistics Facility 
Frontier Scientific Solutions, a logistics company focused on the life-science industry, has begun construction of cGMP temperature-controlled facilities in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the Wilmington International Airport. The facility is designed to enhance the efficiency and security of transporting time- and temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical and bio/pharmaceutical products. The Wilmington facility will offer advanced features, including streamlined customs processing through its Free Trade Zone designation.
