Evonik Names Brenntag as European Distributor for Pharma Amino Acids
Evonik has entered an agreement with Brenntag Specialties Pharma, an Essen, Germany-based distribution company, for the exclusive distribution of Evonik’s’ Rexim GMP-grade amino acids across most of Europe.
Under the agreement, Brenntag will assume responsibility for market development and distribution in key regions, including the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland), the UK, France, Benelux, Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe, Israel and Turkey. Italy, Ukraine, the Middle East, and Africa are excluded from the agreement.

MilliporeSigma Opens $28.6-M Testing Facility in Europe
MilliporeSigma, a provider of products and services to the bio/pharma industry and part of Merck KGaA, has opened a new EUR 25-million ($28.6-million), 2,000-square-meter BioReliance testing facility at Merck KGaA’s global headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. The facility expands access to commercial drug-substance and drug-product release testing as well as stability testing, including stability testing for monoclonal antibodies and cell therapies, for biopharmaceutical companies developing and commercializing therapies in Europe.

Evonik, evitria Partner for Protein Expression Kits
Evonik has partnered with evitria, a Zurich, Switzerland-based antibody expression specialist, to offer a ready-to-use transient protein expression kit based on Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells for biopharmaceutical research and development. Evonik’s partnership with evitria marks a further step for Evonik in expanding its portfolio of products for biomanufacturing. In 2025, Evonik also partnered with recombinant protein developer, InVitria, to broaden its offering with recombinant human serum albumin.

Rottendorf Pharma To Expand Oral Solid Dosage Mfg
Rottendorf Pharma, a Ennigerloh, Germany-based CDMO of solid dosage products, has begun construction of the Rottendorf Campus in Oelde, Germany, to expand its manufacturing capacity for tablets.
The first phase includes a production facility and integrated logistics infrastructure. Rottendorf is investing more than EUR 30 million ($34 million) in this initial phase, with total investments expected to exceed EUR 100 million ($114 million) over the long term.
The new campus will complement Rottendorf’s existing headquarters and manufacturing site in Ennigerloh, Germany, and is scheduled to begin operations in 2028. Upon full build-out, the company expects to increase its annual production capacity from approximately five billion to up to ten billion tablets.

AGC Biologics, Pyramid Pharma Services Partner for End-to-End Capabilities
AGC Biologics, a CDMO of biologics, has entered a strategic partnership with Pyramid Pharma Services, a Waltham, Massachusetts-based CDMO of fill–finish services, to combines AGC Biologics’ expertise in biologics drug-substance development and manufacturing with Pyramid’s sterile fill-finish capabilities.

CDMO Bora Pharmaceuticals, InSilico Medicine in $2.5-Bn AI-Based Strategic Alliance
Bora Pharmaceuticals, a CDMO, and Insilico Medicine, a company applying generative AI in drug discovery and development, have entered a multi-target strategic alliance worth up to $2.5 billion. The proposed alliance is designed to combine Insilico’s Pharma.AI platform, spanning target discovery, generative chemistry, and molecule optimization, with Bora’s global development, manufacturing, quality, and commercialization capabilities. By linking AI-enabled discovery with automation-driven development, manufacturing, and quality execution, the companies are aiming to develop a drug innovation model that connects molecule design with the capabilities required to develop, manufacture, and deliver medicines.
As part of the alliance, Insilico aims to accelerate Bora’s transition toward more AI-driven and automation-driven drug discovery and development capabilities by providing research and development strategies and end-to-end AI solutions across global discovery and development workflows. Over time, the alliance will further explore opportunities to apply AI and automation-driven approaches across development planning, process optimization, pharmaceutical development, manufacturing readiness, and quality systems.

Syngene International, a CDMO, has appointed Siddharth Mittal, currently Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Biocon Limited, as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company. Siddharth succeeds Peter Bains, who completed his tenure as Managing Director & CEO on June 30, 2026. During his thirteen years at Biocon, Siddharth held the position of Chief Financial Officer before being appointed as Managing Director and CEO.

Kindeva Appoints New Chief Transformation Officer
Kindeva, a CDMO of injectables, drug-delivery services, and autoinjectors, has appointed Brok Weichbrodt, currently Vice President of Operations at Genezen, a CDMO of cell and gene therapies, as Chief Transformation Officer. In this role, Weichbrodt is charged with strengthening operational excellence, scaling execution, and accelerating growth as the company enters the next phase of its value-creation plan.
Weichbrodt has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. He previously played a key role in scaling Genezen from a start-up company into a viral vector CDMO. Prior to Genezen, Weichbrodt led Drug Product Operations and Commercial Operations for Catalent at its Bloomington, Indiana, operations.
