Lonza Expanding HPAPI Mfg Facility
Lonza has announced plans to enhance its drug-linker center of excellence and expand payload-linker manufacturing capacity at its site in Visp, Switzerland.
The expansion will establish new commercial-scale capabilities for the manufacture of complex and highly potent active pharmaceutical ingredients (HPAPI) and antibody drug conjugate payload-linkers. The investment will add new manufacturing capacity within an existing GMP facility to bring additional payload-linker production and purification alongside dedicated analytical and process development laboratories.
The facility is expected to be operational in 2028 and will support both clinical and commercial programs. The new capacity is aligned with Lonza’s broader integrated ADC ecosystem in Visp, which includes monoclonal antibody manufacture, and conjugation, and drug-product manufacturing capabilities in Visp and Stein, Switzerland.

Olon Completes Expansion of Ohio Facility
Olon, a Rodano -Italy-based CDMO of active pharmaceutical ingredients, has completed an expansion at its Concord, Ohio, manufacturing facility.
The site is historically focused on chemical synthesis, process development, and early-stage manufacturing. The completed expansion doubles the facility’s overall production capacity to enhance the company’s commercial manufacturing capabilities and also strengthens the site’s R&D capabilities in early-stage process development and scale-up.
Olon operates 14 manufacturing sites and 14 R&D centers worldwide, with over 2,800 employees with capabilities in chemical synthesis, microbial fermentation, mammalian, bioconjugation, and fill–finish.

Bora Pharmaceuticals Acquires Biologics Drug Substance Mfg Facility for $122 M
Bora Pharmaceuticals has completed its acquisition of the GMP manufacturing operations of MacroGenics, including its biologics drug-substance facility in Rockville, Maryland, and an associated warehousing center in Frederick, Maryland, for $122.5 million.
With the close of the transaction, Bora Group’s biologics CDMO franchise, Bora Biologics, now operates 20,000 liters of single-use bioreactor drug-substance manufacturing capacity across two active US sites: Rockville, Maryland, and San Diego, California, and one development facility in Zhubei, Taiwan.

Icosagen Completes $51 M Biologic Mfg Expansion
Icosagen, a Tartu, Estonia-based CDMO of biologics, has completed a EUR 45-million ($51-million) expansion to strengthen its biologics development and manufacturing capabilities.
Supported by a EUR 18-million ($21-million) loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB), backed by the InvestEU program, and combined with Icosagen’s own funding, the initiative represents a total investment of EUR 45 million ($51 million). The program included the establishment of a new single-use GMP manufacturing facility that operates in accordance with European GMP regulatory requirements.

Just – Evotec Biologics Launches Turnkey Continuous Mfg Platform
Just – Evotec Biologics, a CDMO providing continuous biomanufacturing, has launched J.TRAIN, a new offering that enables bio/pharmaceutical companies to deploy Evotec’s proprietary continuous biomanufacturing technology directly within their own facilities on a turnkey basis. The turnkey service, J.TRAIN, was launched in April 2026. The continuous biomanufacturing capabilities were previously used only in-house by the company. The company has facilities in Redmond and Seattle, Washington.

Codis To Acquire Spray Drying Facility from Catalent
Codis, a contract provider specializing in commercial-scale spray drying, amorphous solid dispersions, and particle-engineering technologies, has agreed to acquire the Nottingham, UK, facility of Catalent Pharma Solutions. The facility provides oral solid dose development and small-scale manufacturing capabilities.
The facility will complement Codis’ large-scale commercial spray-drying facility in Haverhill, UK, which is now undergoing expansion with a new GEA Pharma-SD® type PSD-4 commercial spray dryer scheduled to be validated in 2027.
The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.

Thermo Fisher Adds Amorphous Solid Dispersion Technology for Solid Dosage Drugs
AustinPx, a CDMO specializing in bioavailability enhancement for orally delivered small-molecule drugs, has announced an agreement with Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Pharma Services business for the installation of AustinPx’s KinetiSol technology equipment. KinetiSol is AustinPx’s solvent-free, fusion-based amorphous solid dispersion technology designed to enhance the bioavailability of poorly soluble drugs.
Under the agreement, AustinPx will install KinetiSol equipment at Thermo Fisher’s Bend, Oregon, and Cincinnati, Ohio, oral solid drug manufacturing sites to extend KinetiSol capabilities from development and scale-up through commercial manufacturing. Thermo Fisher also becomes the exclusive third-party CDMO provider offering the KinetiSol formulator technology.

Gattefosse Validates Eight Ingredients at Mfg Facility
Gattefossé, a Lyon, France-based provider of specialty ingredients and formulation solutions for the pharmaceutical and personal care industries, has announced the successful validation of eight ingredients at its facility in Lufkin, Texas. Three pharmaceutical excipients and five cosmetic ingredients have achieved manufacturing equivalency.

Mikart Appoints New CEO
Mikart, a CDMO of oral solid and liquid dosage forms, has announced that Darrin T. Schellin, currently Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pharma Tech Industries, has joined the company as CEO. As part of the transition, Michael Kallelis, formerly CEO of Mikart, has joined Mikart’s Board of Directors and will remain actively involved in supporting the company and providing strategic guidance to ensure continuity for clients, employees, and partners.
Most recently, Schellin served as CEO of Pharma Tech Industries, where he led the transformation of a pharmaceutical CDMO platform focused on powder-based products, including stick packs, sachets, and bottle-fill applications. He also served as CEO of GBI Bio, where he helped transform the organization from a clinical-phase CDMO into an integrated clinical and commercial biotech CDMO. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles with Alliance Medical Products, Siegfried, and other healthcare, life sciences, and manufacturing organizations.

Lonza, Nona Biosciences in Pact for Blood-Brian Barrier Technology
Nona Biosciences, a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based company advancing biologics discovery and development through technology platforms, has announced a strategic collaboration with Lonza to develop single-domain antibody–based blood-brain barrier (BBB)-crossing technology for central nervous system (CNS) diseases. The collaboration will use Nona Biosciences’ Harbour Mice fully human HCAb platform to discover and develop single-domain antibody-based BBB-crossing technologies across of range of modalities to enable delivery of therapeutics to the CNS.
Under the agreement, Nona is entitled to receive upfront and option payments from Lonza. The parties will also share revenues generated from future licensing agreements pursuant to the collaboration.
