Lonza Joins Center for Continuous Manufacturing and Advanced Crystallization
Lonza has joined the Center for Continuous Manufacturing and Advanced Crystallization, a medicines manufacturing research center based at the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, The center advances chemistry, manufacturing and control (CMC) technologies, implements digitalization strategies, and develops continuous processing and crystallization solutions for active pharmaceutical ingredients and drug-product technologies.

Thermo Fisher Scientific Opens Advanced Therapies Center
Thermo Fisher Scientific has opened an Advanced Therapies Collaboration Center in Carlsbad, California. The center is designed to accelerate the development and commercialization of cell therapies, specifically by supporting biotech, bio/pharma and translational research customers developing cell-based immunotherapies.

Meribel Pharma Solutions Launches as a New CDMO
Meribel Pharma Solutions has launched as a new CDMO of drug products following the acquisition of the CDMO, Synerlab Group, and seven European manufacturing facilities from the CDMO, Recipharm, last year (2024). The company is backed by Blue Wolf Capital Partners, a middle-market private equity firm specializing in the industrial and healthcare sectors.
The company provides development and manufacturing services for sterile multi-dose products, sachets, stick packets, oral solid dosage products and semi-solid dosage forms as well as lyophilization services. The firm has 13 manufacturing sites, six in France, two in Spain,and five in Sweden. It has manufacturing facilities in Pessac, Dreux, Erstein, Alsace, Provence and Orléans in France; Alcalá and Parets in Spain; and Höganäs, Karlskoga, Solna, Strängnäs and Uppsala in Sweden.
Meribel Pharma Solutions is headed by CEO, Bruce Vielle, formerly President, CEO of Synerlab, and Chief Operating Office, Steve Leonard, who joins the firm from Integra Life Sciences, where he was Corporate Vice President, Global Operations & Supply Chain. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President, Head of Global Operations at Catalent.

Schott Opens New Ampoule Production Facility
Schott Pharma, a pharmaceutical packaging company, has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility for glass ampoules in Jagodina, Serbia. The company invested double-digit million euros in the facility, which will manufacture glass ampoules for the storage of injectable medications such as analgesics, anti-inflammatories, and anesthetics.
