SK pharmteco Opens Expansions for Small-Molecules and HPAPIs
SK pharmteco, a CDMO of small-molecule active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and cell and gene therapies, has opened two facility expansions at its manufacturing campus in Swords, Ireland. The opening scales the site’s capability to deliver both large-scale commercial small molecules and ultra-high-potency active pharmaceutical ingredients (HPAPIs).
The multi-purpose GMP small-molecule API facility added ~26.5 m3 of reactor capacity, including three 8,000-L glass-lined batch reactors with associated holding capacity and a 4.15-m2 Hastelloy agitated filter dryer. The kilo-scale GMP HPAPI and antibody drug conjugate payload facility added high-potency containment, designed for ultra-high potency compounds with occupational exposure limits (OELs) as low as 10 ng/m3. The expansion supports batch sizes up to 0.5 – 1.5 kg and includes glass-reactor capacity up to 30 L, rigid and flexible isolators, high-pressure chromatography, tray drying, and lyophilization.

Eurofins CDMO Alphora Expands HPAPI Labs
Eurofins CDMO Alphora, a CDMO of small-molecule and biologic drug substances and drug products, has expanded its kilolab and high-potency active pharmaceutical ingredient (HPAPI) development and manufacturing capabilities in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
Together, the suites cover 627 square feet. They are equipped with walk-in fume hoods capable of supporting up to 100-L glass reactors and use a flexible design so that specialized equipment such as isolators, glove boxes, and lyophilizers can fulfill project requirements as needed to enable execution of a wide range of non-high potent and high potent programs. The laboratories are further supported by an additional dedicated analytical laboratory and an adjacent GMP warehouse.

Piramal Acquires Controlling Stake in Yapan Bio
Piramal Pharma Ltd. (PPL), the parent company of Piramal Pharma Solutions, a CDMO of small-molecule active pharmaceutical ingredients and drug products, has completed the acquisition of an incremental 40.67% stake in Yapan Bio, a Hyderabad-based CDMO specializing in vaccines and biologics, for $7.95 million. The move marks Piramal Pharma Solutions’ entry into the biologics drug substance sector. As a result of this transaction, PPL now owns 74% of Yapan Bio’s equity, making Yapan Bio a subsidiary of PPL. The subsidiary will continue to operate within the structure of Piramal Pharma Solutions, the CDMO arm of PPL.

Cytovance Adds Analytical Services
Cytovance Biologics, an Oklahoma City, Oklahoma-based CDMO of biologics, has announced the expansion of its analytical services portfolio with standalone analytical capabilities for biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients.
The expanded analytical services support programs from early-stage development through commercialization and are available under both GMP and non-GMP environments. As programs advance, Cytovance will provide GMP-compliant testing and stability services that support regulatory submissions, process validation efforts, and commercial readiness.
