Solvias To Build Biologics Testing Center
Solvias, a Kaiseraugst, Switzerland-based provider of chemistry, manufacturing, and control (CMC) analytics, has announced that it is building a new biologics and cell & gene therapy testing center site in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

The 50,000-square-foot facility, expected to be completed in 2025, will serve as Solvias’ North American hub for large-molecule analytical services. It will offer cell-based potency assays, sequencing capabilities, and related testing services supporting multiple biologic modalities.

The new testing center will support characterization and release testing of cell- & gene-therapies and other advanced therapies, including adeno-associated virus gene therapies, mRNA therapies, and antibody drug conjugates.

ExcellGene, Cytovance Partner for Cell-Line Development
ExcellGene, a Monthey, Switzerland-based contract provider of mammalian cell-line development, has entered a strategic collaboration with Cytovance Biologics, an Oklahoma City, Oklahoma-based CDMO of biologics, to add ExcellGene’s transposon technologies to Cytovance’s capabilities.

Under the agreement, Cytovance will gain access to ExcellGene’s Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) and human embryonic kidney (HEK) cell lines. The lines can be used to optimize protein quality, quantity, development timelines, and scalability for biomanufacturing through custom engineering to the specific requirements of a protein.

GRAM To Build New Syringe & Cartridge Filling Center
Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing (GRAM), a CDMO of parenteral drug products, has announced that it will build a new syringe and cartridge filling center at the company’s site in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The center is 150,000 square feet and is designed to hold up to four syringe/cartridge filling and inspection lines.

The new center is adjacent to GRAM’s existing 200,000-square-foot finishing and warehouse center. It brings the CDMO to five manufacturing facilities and more than 450,000 square feet of production space. GRAM estimates building construction will be complete in 2025, with new filling and inspection equipment installed in 2026.
