Solvias Opens Center of Excellence for Biologics & New Modalities
Solvias, a Kaiseraugst, Switzerland-based provider of chemistry, manufacturing, and control (CMC) analytics, reports that its recently opened Center of Excellence for biologics and modalities in Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina, is now cGMP ready.
To further support this growth, Solvias also announced that the site’s Phase 2 build-out, which will add an additional 30,000 square feet of advanced laboratory space, is set to open this month (July 2025).
This expansion will strengthen analytical capabilities for a wide range of modalities and delivery systems, including adeno-associated virus (AAV), mRNA, monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), cell therapies, peptides, and oligonucleotides.

Coriolis Pharma Investing in New Laboratory
Coriolis Pharma, a Munich, Germany-based CDMO of drug products, has announced its intention to invest $10 million in establishing a research laboratory in Morrisville, North Carolina.The new laboratory will encompass approximately 13,000 square feet and is scheduled to commence operations in the first quarter of 2026. As a strategic anchor for Coriolis Pharma’s North American expansion, the facility will initially deliver core services such as particle identification, followed by formulation development and lyophilization. The site is designed to support future innovation, including the adoption of advanced digital and in-silico technologies.

Sanner Opens New Production Facility
Sanner, a Bensheim, Germany-based provider of packaging, has opened its first US-based production facility in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Stevanato Group Receives $235 M in Financing
Stevanato Group, a provider of drug-containment, drug-delivery and diagnostic products and services, has secured EUR 200 million ($235 million) in financing through agreements with BNL BNP Paribas, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), and Banco BPM. These fundings are intended to support the company’s ongoing capital expenditure projects in Cisterna di Latina (Italy) and Fishers (Indiana, US).
The financing agreements bolster Stevanato Group’s capacity expansion efforts and the scaling of commercial production to support customers’ growing biologics programs. CDP has committed EUR 50 million ($59 million) to enhance the production of pre-filled syringes and set-up future capacity for ready-to-use (RTU) cartridges at Stevanato Group’s Italian plant in Cisterna di Latina. Additionally, BNL BNP Paribas has provided EUR 100 million ($118 million), and Banco BPM has contributed EUR 50 million ($59 million), both aimed at scaling pre-filled syringe production at the company’s facilities in North America (Indiana) and Italy, as well as completing the ongoing construction for device manufacturing in Fishers, Indiana.

Abzena Appoints New CEO
Abzena, a San Diego, California-based CDMO of biologics and antibody drug conjugates, has announced that Geoffrey M. Glass, currently Chairman of the Board, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately (as reported on July 22, 2025. Mr. Glass has served as Chairman of the Board since 2022.
Mr. Glass has 30 years of experience in the life sciences industry within both innovators and services organizations, including substantial experience helping build the CDMO sector over the last 15 years. He previously served in executive roles at EY Consulting, Valeant Pharmaceuticals (now Bausch Health), Patheon (now Thermo Fisher Scientific), Sancilio Pharmaceuticals, and Kiniciti.

Roquette Appoints new CEO
Roquette has appointed Thierry Fournier, currently the CEO of the Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa Region for Saint-Gobain, a provider of materials and services for construction y, as the new Chief Executive Officer of Roquette. He will succeed Pierre Courduroux, formerly CEO, who has served as CEO of Roquette since December 2020 and who retired on July 18, 2025.
