Teva Names New EVP of Global Operations
Teva Pharmaceutical Industries has appointed Matthew Shields as Executive Vice President of Teva Global Operations, the company’s manufacturing and supply division, effective June 3, 2024.
Shields succeeds Eric Drapé, who is leaving after 11 years with the company, including more than four years as Executive Vice President, Global Operations. Shields will be a member of Teva’s Executive Leadership Team and report directly to President and CEO Richard Francis. He will be based in Teva’s US headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey.
Shields joins Teva with an over 25-plus year career in the global bio/pharmaceutical and animal health industries. Most recently, Shields served as Senior Vice President for Animal Health Manufacturing for Merck & Co., known as MSD Animal Health outside of the United States and Canada, where he oversaw end-to-end manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and process development. Prior to Merck, he led Specialty Care Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operational Excellence for Sanofi. Shields spent much of his early career at Amgen, where he held a variety of leadership roles in operations.
