Almac Plans Cold Room Expansions
Almac announced an investment to more than double the existing capacity of its 2-8 °C clinical supply labeling cold room facilities in the company's European and US-based facilities.
Additional dedicated temperature and humidity controlled labeling suites have been installed and are now live at Almac's headquarter sites situated in Craigavon, the UK, Souderton, Pennsylvania, and Durhamm North Carolina, increasing their capacity to label temperature- sensitive investigational products. This expansion represents the latest development in the company's investment initiatives designed to meet growing client demand for specific services, including an upsurge in clinical studies for biosimilar and biological investigational products.
The cold room facilities expansion follows on from other recently announced investments including £54 million ($88 million) planned expenditure on the company's pharmaceutical development and clinical services operations. This is in addition to the establishment of regional operations centres through strategic investments in Singapore and Japan geared towards meeting increasing customer demand in the Asia Pacific region.
