Almac To Acquire BioClin Laboratories

Almac Group, a Craigavon, Ireland-based contract development and manufacturing organization, has agreed to acquire BioClin Laboratories, an Athlone, Ireland-headquartered pharmaceutical company.

BioClin provides analytical services, including cGMP pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical analysis, GMP microbiology testing, and GLP bioanalysis.

BioClin’s 14,000-square-foot facility increases Almac’s analytical capacity. The acquisition will see BioClin’s staff join Almac’s network of almost 600 employees across sites in Europe and North America.

Almac also recently completed an expansion of its existing analytical facilities at its global headquarters in Northern Ireland with the creation of a new, UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency-approved laboratory.

News of this acquisition follows the recent announcement of a multi-million-Sterling pound expansion of Almac-owned, Arran Chemical Company, also based in Athlone, which increased Almac’s manufacturing capacity for fine chemicals, pharmaceutical intermediates, and advanced building blocks.
