Amgen Invests in Digital Health Company

Amgen GmbH, a Zug, Switzerland-based affiliate of Amgen, has invested in eHealth Ventures, a Tel Aviv Israel-based digital-health incubator that is comprised of a consortium of organizations and investors active in the field of digital health. Additional investors include Israeli HMO Maccabi Healthcare Services and Amgen’s Israeli distributor, Medison Pharma. Amgen will be the lead biopharmaceutical investor. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The consortium, launched in March of 2016 with Israeli government backing, includes Cleveland Clinic, a US hospital; Maccabi Healthcare Services, an Israeli health provider; and Medison Pharma, an independent Israeli specialty pharmaceutical company and Amgen’s distributor in Israel. The consortium seeks early-stage digital health companies in which it will invest and grow. It aims to invest in 40 new companies over an eight-year period.
