Avacta, a life-sciences tool company based in Wetherby, UK, has opened two new facilities in Cambridge and Wetherby, Yorkshire, UK, which increase the company's laboratory facility space to 18,500 square feet from 9,500 square feet. The new laboratories and office space expands operations at both sites to meet increasing commercial demands and accommodate Avacta's growing research and development program.

The new Cambridge site is located on the Lion Works Business Park in Whittlesford and covers 5,500 square feet, of which approximately 70% houses laboratories. In Wetherby, a new 13,000-square-foot building has been provided by the Thorp Arch Estate. Avacta has fitted the building with offices and laboratories accommodating around 60 full-time equivalent employees.
