Avista Pharma Solutions, a Durham, North Carolina-headquartered contract testing, development, and manufacturing organization, has completed the acquisition of Solid Form Solutions, an Edinburgh, Scotland-headquartered contract services provider of solid-state chemistry and crystallization development services.

The addition of Solid Form Solutions expands Avista Pharma’s existing solid-state chemistry services and provides both companies’ customers access to development services ranging from analytical development to active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and drug-product manufacturing.

Solid Form Solutions plans to continue operating in its Edinburgh, Scotland facility to provides its services, including salt screening and selection, co-crystal and polymorph screening, crystallization development, and other analytical testing and development.

The acquisition of Solid Form Solutions follows a year of investment in facilities and capacity expansions for Avista Pharma. In 2017, Avista Pharma announced the expansion of its analytical research and development capabilities in Durham, North Carolina, its API and drug-product manufacturing capacity in Longmont, Colorado, and its microbiology and sterility testing capabilities in Agawam, Massachusetts.
