Bachem Investing $610 M for New Large-Scale Mfg Facility

Bachem, a CDMO of peptide and oliogionucletides, has announced plans to build a large-scale production facility in Sisslerfeld (Eiken, Switzerland) as part of a strategic collaboration. The company plans to invest more than CHF 500 million ($610 million) in the greenfield project. Start of commercial production at the new site in Sisslerfeld is expected in 2030. The announcement follows the signing of an agreement to supply large volumes of peptides. The strategic collaboration includes pre-payments and long-term commitments.

Bachem is implementing a program to expand capacity across its entire network, including facilities designed for high-volume production of peptides and oligonucleotides. Bachem operates as a global network of manufacturing sites, including Bubendorf (Switzerland), Sisslerfeld (Switzerland), Vionnaz (Switzerland), Vista and Torrance (California), and St. Helens (UK).
