Boehringer Ingelheim, on behalf of its diabetes alliance with Eli Lilly and Company, has entered into an agreement with Inovalon, a Bowie, Maryland-based technology company providing cloud-based platforms for the healthcare industry, to use the combined healthcare capabilities and integrated technology platform of Inovalon and Avalere, a Washington, DC-based healthcare consulting firm, to support outcomes-based contracting and to translate clinical outcomes into real-world practice for improving patient clinical care.

The collaboration is intended to support customer insight, data integration and analytics, and enable integrated provider and patient-level intervention capabilities. The partnership is expected to leverage a holistic and integrated support to outcomes-based contracting.
