Cadila Signs Vaccine Mfg Pact in Russia

Cadila Healthcare, a pharmaceutical company located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, and Pharm Aid, a Russia-headquartered pharmaceutical company, have formed an exclusive agreement for vaccine technology for the varicella vaccine (chickenpox) in Russia.

Through this agreement, Cadila gains access to the public and private market segments in the Russian Federation, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan. The deal aims to create a continuous supply of vaccines that could be included in Russia’s childhood immunization program. The vaccine is not currently in the national immunization program because there is no indigenously manufactured supply, according to Cadila.

Pharm Aid is a joint venture between Nacimbio, which was established to secure the Russian Federation’s sovereignty in the manufacture and supply of essential medicinal products, primarily, immunobiological preparations, and Ishvan Pharmaceuticals, a Russian pharmaceutical company, for localizing vaccine production in Russia.
