Capsugel has completed its previously announced acquisitions of the contract development and manufacturing organization, Xcelience, and Powdersize, a company specializing in particle engineering. The acquisitions were announced on December 14, 2015.

Xcelience and Powdersize are now part of Capsugel’s Dosage Form Solutions business unit, which partners with pharmaceutical and health and nutrition companies.The acquisitions provide Capsugel with specialized clinical trial manufacturing and supply capabilities for a broad range of solid dosage forms; development and manufacturing for specialized products such as highly potent and controlled substance compounds; and micronization capabilities that augment the company’s existing formulation design services and bioavailability enhancement technology platform.
