Capsugel, a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) and capsule provider, has agreed to acquire Xcelience, a Tampa, Florida-headquartered CDMO, and Powdersize, a Quakertown, Pennsylvania-based company specializing in particle engineering.

Upon completion of the transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval, both Xcelience and Powdersize will be integrated with Capsugel's Dosage Form Solutions business unit, which has built an offering in bioavailability enhancement, modified release solutions, bio-therapeutics, inhalation drugs, and pediatric formulations.
