Constantia Flexibles Invests in Production Capacity in India

Constantia Flexibles, a Vienna, Austria-headquartered packaging company, is investing INR 100 crore ($15 million) to expand production capacity at its Indian subsidiary, Parikh Packaging, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.

The company broke ground in mid-2017 on a new greenfield site close to existing production at Parikh. The site is currently under construction. It will house a polyethylene (PE)-blown film extruder printing press and laminators that are expected to produce high-barrier laminates that can be fully recycled. The extra capacity will come on stream in 2019.

Parikh Packaging has been part of Constantia Flexibles since 2013 and has a production unit in Ahmedabad, including rotogravure printing machines, PE extruders, various lamination technologies, and pouch making.
