Dalton Completes Expansion Of Sterile Filling And API Facility
Dalton Pharma Services, a Toronto-based pharmaceutical services provider, has completed a $5-million expansion in sterile filling and active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing at its cGMP facility in Toronto. The project added three new sterile processing suites and an API manufacturing suite. A semi-automated powder filling line with scale-up of lyophilization capacity was also added.
The expansion also includes increased analytical capabilities, increased chemistry capacity, and facility upgrades to meet sterile manufacturing GMP API standards. Approximately 20 new skilled jobs have been added over the past year.
This project was supported by CAD 2.085 million (US $1.596 million) in FedDev Ontario funding, which supports investing in business growth and productivity initiatives. Combined with the company's initial investment of $3.5 million, the expansion project brings the total investment at the site to more than $5 million.
