Fujifilm Diosynth Opens Gene-Therapy Mfg Facility
Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies, a contract development and manufacturing organization of biologic-based drug substances, has opened a flexible manufacturing facility (FBF) for the production of clinical and commercial gene therapies in College Station, Texas.
The 80,000-square-foot facility uses mobile cleanroom technology to allow for multi-product and multi-class production of advanced therapies.
The FBF adds to the existing process and analytical development and manufacturing capabilities at the National Center for Therapeutic Manufacturing, an interdisciplinary workforce education and research center, operated by Fujifilm, which is equipped for Phase I/II GMP production of advanced therapies and is also located in College Station, Texas.
