JRS Pharma, a Rosenberg, Germany-based excipients manufacturer, has formed a joint venture with Star-Tech Specialty Products (SSP), a Chongqing, China-based povidone manufacturer, to commercialize povidone products. The new joint-venture company is named Star-Tech & JRS Specialty Products and will manufactures povidones for life-sciences applications, which will be sold under the Vivapharm brand.

JRS Pharma will have overall quality responsibility for all Vivapharm povidone products through final quality checks in its newly-established analytic competence center in Germany. The company will also manage all R&D, marketing, and sales of povidone products to the health-science industry.
