Laurus Synthesis, a Woburn, Massachusetts-based company that provides drug chemistry services, has signed a deal to collaborate with Epygenix Therapeutics, a Paramus, New Jersey-based company developing precision medicine for rare forms of genetic epilepsy, for the development and manufacture of Epygenix’s lead drug candidate.

Under the agreement, Laurus Synthesis will provide chemistry development services as well as manufacturing in support of an upcoming clinical trial for the lead candidate in Dravet syndrome, which represents an orphan indication with an unmet medical need.
