Micro-Sphere, a contract development and manufacturing organization focused on spray drying and capsule filling, is investing CHF 21 million ($21.7 million) to expand GMP manufacturing capabilities at its facility in Monteggio, Switzerland.

The investment is designed for greater capacity to allow the company to handle larger quantities of pharmaceutical powders and commercial volumes of finished dosage forms.

The expanded facility, which will see the GMP production area triple in size, should be operational by the final quarter of 2017.
