PCI Clinical Services, part of PCI Pharma Services, a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based contract development, manufacturing, and packaging organization, has launched an expedited clinical packaging, labeling and distribution service, FastTrack.

Using in-house label printing, FastTrack can complete label design, printing, receipt, and qualified person (QP) release within 10 days, according to PCI Clinical Services.

For study drug resupply, the company notes it can complete repeat packing runs and QP release in three days, including label printing, using its FastTrack on-demand service to allow flexibility of bulk drug material so it can be used across multiple studies and labelled for multiple countries.

Another expedited service is FastTrack Just in Time, which offers sponsor companies supply flexibility by the application of a protocol or expiry date label at the point of dispatch within two days. The Just in Time service also provides for supply-chain strategies, such as pooled drug supplies across protocols and a solution to challenges posed by updates to Annex VI, the regulatory classification system for the labeling and packaging of clinical products.
