Perrigo Appoints New Chief Executive Officer & President
Perrigo has appointed Uwe Röhrhoff as chief executive officer (CEO) and president, effective January 15, 2018, following the retirement of John T. Hendrickson, the company’s current CEO.
Hendrickson will resign as CEO and board member on January 15, 2018 and will remain with the company until March 15, 2018 for transition purposes. Hendrickson became CEO in late April 2016, following the resignation and departure of Joseph C. Papa, who resigned from Perrigo to become chairman and CEO of Valeant Pharmaceuticals International.
Röhrhoff has more than 25 years of experience with Gerresheimer AG, a Düsseldorf, Germany-based manufacturer of pharmaceutical packaging products and medical devices for storage, dosage, and administration of drugs. He began his career with Gerresheimer AG in 1991 and advanced within the organization to serve in a number of key leadership roles in Europe and North America. Röhrhoff was appointed to build out the company’s business in the US (1996-1998) and head the company’s American subsidiary, Gerresheimer Glass (2001-2010). He served as an executive board member (2003-2017), responsible for two of the company’s three business units, and CEO (2010-2017) of Gerresheimer AG until his retirement in August 2017.
Röhrhoff serves as Audit Committee chairman on the Board of Directors of Catalent. He is also deputy chairman of Klöckner & Co., a steel and metal distributor. Röhrhoff plans to step down from both boards.
