Philips-Medisize Opens Design & Development Center in China
Phillips-Medisize, a provider of design, development and technology-driven manufacturing for medical device, rug delivery, primary pharmaceutical packaging, and commercial products, has opened a new design and development center in Suzhou, China. As part of the company's network of design and development centers, the Suzhou facility has multiple capabilities including device design, injection molding simulation, developmental tooling and assembly equipment, along with on-site program management. This design and development group is actively working on multiple projects, including biologics drug-delivery devices intended specifically for Asian markets.
The company's network of four design centers located in North America, Europe and now Asia, employ approximately 200 engineering professionals, and the global program management and new product introduction teams has 275 engineering professionals. The company contributed to the launch of 81 new products in 2014.
Phillips-Medisize providers outsource design, development and technology-driven manufacturing services for medical devices and diagnostics, drug delivery, primary pharmaceutical packaging, and commercial products. The company has annual sales of over $600 million with 80% of the total revenue coming from drug delivery, medical device and diagnostic products, such as: disposable insulin pens, glucose meters, specialty inhalation drug-delivery devices, single-use surgical devices and consumable diagnostic components.
