Roquette Opens New Facility in Singapore

Roquette, a Lestrem, France-based plant-based pharmaceutical ingredients company, has invested in a new pharmaceutical research & development and customer technical service facility in Singapore. The facility, which is scheduled to open in the fall 2017, will house technical teams who will provide expertise and support for pharmaceutical excipients and drug-delivery systems for oral dosage forms and injectables.

The more than 1,100-square-meter facility is located in Biopolis, Singapore and will provide localized project support and application training. Capabilities include the development of new products and new applications for existing products as well as preclinical research. Additionally, this facility is equipped for physical and chemical characterization of materials, support for pharmaceutical customers with prototypes, and formulation and process development.

This announcement follows the company’s announcement in March 2017 of the launch of a new Biopharma segment. The additions included three new brands and Itacel, the excipient business of Blanver, a Brazilian pharmaceutical manufacturer.
