Sanofi has begun the first phase of local generic production through Globalpharma, a Dubai-based company in which Sanofi acquired a 66% stake in from Dubai Investments, a Middle Eastern investment company, in June 2014.

Globalpharma is being integrated as a Sanofi company to become the company’s platform to manufacture and promote the generics portfolio of Sanofi in Middle East markets. The portfolio includes anti-infectives, cardiovascular, and gastrointestinal products.
