Sharp Clinical Opens $12-Million Clinical Services Center of Excellence in UK
Sharp Clinical Services has opened a £9.5-million ($12-million) Clinical Services Center of Excellence for primary and secondary drug packaging, storage and distribution services, in Rhymney, UK. .
Development of the site began in 2017 and is now fully operational. Investment in the center included £500,000 ($647,217) from the Welsh Government.
In designing the new facility, Sharp is investing in a solar panel system, which is generating approximately 20% of its total annual electricity requirements.
In 2018, Sharp invested $36 million in new dedicated facilities in both the US and the UK and offer QP (Qualified Person) services for European distribution.

West Increases Equity Stake in Daikyo Seiko
West Pharmaceutical Services, a provider of injectable drug-administration and delivery products and services, has increased its minority equity stake to 49% in Daikyo Seiko, a manufacturer of injectable components.
West has partnered with Daikyo for more than 40 years to develop and manufacture components and solutions for the primary containment and delivery of injectable medicines.
West and Daikyo have long-standing agreements that include a distribution agreement by which West distributes and markets Daikyo products throughout the world, on an exclusive basis, as well as a technology-exchange and cross-license agreement, which grants each party certain exclusive intellectual property rights for the manufacture of products covered by the agreement.
Additionally, Daikyo has distribution rights of West products in Japan.
