Teva Completes $500 Million Acquisition of Anda Inc.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries has completed its previously announced acquisition of Anda Inc, a US-based distributor of generic pharmaceuticals, from Allergan. Teva had announced that it was acquiring Anda Inc. for $500 million in August 2016.

Anda Inc. distributes generic, brand, specialty, and over-the-counter pharmaceutical products from more than 300 manufacturers to retail independent and chain pharmacies, nursing homes, mail order pharmacies, hospitals, clinics and physician offices across the US. For the full year 2016, Anda is expected to generate more than $1 billion in third-party net revenue. As part of the deal, Teva acquires three distribution centers in Olive Branch, Missouri; Weston, Florida; and Groveport, Ohio, with a total of over 650 employees.

Teva’s acquisition of Anda Inc. was a separate transaction from its $40.5 billion acquisition of the generics business of Allergan, a deal which closed in August 2016.
