Teva, Mylan Launch Generics of Diovan

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. and Mylan each have received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for their respective generic equivalents to Novartis’ Diovan (valsartan) tablets, a drug to treat hypertension. Teva and Mylan have respectively launched the drug in the United States.

Diovan had 2013 global sales of $3.524 billion and 2013 US sales of $1.679 billion.
