Vetter Plans $320 Million Investment for US Commercial Manufacturing Facility
Vetter, a contract development and manufacturing organization, announced plans to invest approximately $320 million for construction and improvements for a site in Des Plaines, Illinois over more than 10 years. Once it has reached its final expansion stage, the 18-acre site would include 1,138,237 square feet of facility space. If approved, the facility would be the second US manufacturing site of the company and would focus on supplying commercial drugs. The Des Plaines project would complement its existing US clinical development support service offering, which consists of a small-scale manufacturing facility located in the nearby town of Skokie.
Vetter discussed its plans at a meeting held on July 12,, 2016 for interested residents and other stakeholders and officials of the City of Des Plaines. Vetter discussed its initial plans for the proposed purchase and development by Vetter of a 18-acre site.
