West Appoints New Chief Digital and Transformation Officer

West Pharmaceutical Services, an Exton, Pennsylvania-headquartered manufacturer of packaging and delivery systems for injectable drugs and healthcare products, has appointed Silji Abraham as senior vice president and chief digital and transformation officer, effective February 26, 2018. He will serve on the company’s senior leadership team and oversee the company’s information technology (IT) and enterprise business systems organizations.

In his new role, Abraham will be responsible for helping to ensure that the company’s IT infrastructure, cyber security, and business systems support West’s business operations across 50 sites. In addition, he will lead West’s efforts to enhance customer engagement through digital marketing, digital manufacturing, and automations to accelerate internal business processes.

Abraham has more than 20 years of experience in leading IT organizations, and most recently served as executive vice president and chief information officer (CIO) of MilliporeSigma, the life-sciences business of Merck KGaA. Prior to this role, Abraham served as CIO at Sigma-Aldrich Corporation and worked in various senior IT leadership roles at Invensys Operations Management, now Schneider Electric. He also has experience working in product engineering, supply chain, and software engineering from his time at ArvinMeritor, DaimlerChrysler, and Chrysler.
