Beximco Pharmaceuticals, a Dhaka, Bangladesh-based generic pharmaceuticals and active pharmaceutical ingredients manufacturer, has begun exporting generic carvedilol, a prescription drug that has been marketed under the brand name Coreg, to the US following approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in November 2015.

Beximco was audited and approved to market the drug in the US by the FDA in June 2015, making it the first Bangladeshi company to launch a pharmaceutical product in the US, according to the company.
