Cryoport Expands Cold-Chain Logistics Pact

Cryoport, a cryogenic logistics company based in Irvine, California, has expanded its contract with Stemedica Cell Technologies, a San Diego-based biopharmaceutical company that manufactures allogeneic adult stem cells and stem cell factors, to provide cold-chain logistics support for a Phase II clinical trial of allogeneic stem cell-based therapies for treating Alzheimer’s disease.

Under the agreement, Stemedica Cell Technologies uses Cryoport’s Cryoportal logistics management platform, proprietary Cryoport Express dry vapor shippers and condition-monitoring systems to ship human stem cells from collection sites in the US to research centers in Georgia and California.
