Irvine Scientific, a Santa Ana, California-based cell-culture media manufacturer, has launched the BalanCD HEK293 system, a series of chemically defined media designed to increase productivity in a range of applications.

BalanCD HEK293 system utilizes human embryonic kidney cells and supports viral vector production for gene therapy, transient gene expression, and recombinant protein production in suspension-adapted HEK293 cells.
